Image Guidelines - Networking

Please bear in mind that this is networking site for professional or aspiring models, photographers, make up artists and others related to the modelling industry. As such, members of Model River should only submit images in accordance with the guidelines listed below. Non professional status is not an excuse for poor quaity or inappropriate content. In all cases, interpretation of these guidelines is at the discretion of the Model River team.

1. Only photos of people are acceptable. After all, it is a model site.

2. Photos must be within the scope of what is considered appropriate to the nature of the site. i.e. 'The Modelling Industry'.

3. Tasteful nudity, partial nudity and artistic nudity are allowed however, since the the terms tasteful and artistic are subjective, the decision of what is tasteful or artistic is entirely at the discretion of the Model River team and is not up for debate.

4. Good quality photos are essential. We don't expect technical perfection but photos from webcams and camera phones generally don't make the grade.

5. Headshots and full body photos are needed. If you are a model, there is little point in submitting headless body shots since potential clients want to know what you look like. Yes I know there are some on the site but they were uploaded for testing purposes and will be deleted in due course. Exceptions here include make up artists where body painting skills are the main focus or photographers that specialise in bodyscapes etc. These will be looked at on an individual basis.

6. You must be at least 18 to be a member of this site. Under no circumstances should you submit photos of models under the age of 18 that portrays them in any way that can be construed as obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented or in any way that may violate any applicable laws. They will be deleted at the first opportunity even if they just look under 18 and will result in a permanent lifetime ban.

7. No pornographic photos please. In particular, uploading images that convey sexual activity or violence whether real or implied will be deleted and result in a ban.

8. And finally, please do not submit photos of landscapes, stock images, objects, 3D graphics, fractals, animals or artwork. In fact if the image does not contain a person as the main subject of the photo then please do not submit it.

9. Image size and type. Please upload jpg images only. All other types will be rejected by the system. Images need to be large enough to view on a standard computer monitor but not so large that they take forever to upload. In any case they will only be displayed at the monitor size. We suggest somewhere between 600 pixels and 800 pixels on the longest side depending on whether your photos are in landscape or portrait format. For square format there is no real benefit in going beyond 800 pixels.

If you are unsure whether your photos fit within the guidelines then contact us here first before uploading. We are willing to look at your images off site and give you a decision as to whether the images are sitable or not.
